British on-demand film and TV streaming service Blinkbox Movies & TV service on Thursday confirmed the upcoming availability of Chromecast support. Announced in a blog post, the feature should be soon added to the Android and iOS mobile apps. Those of you who own an Xbox One will also be pleased to know that you can now access new release movies and television shows on the gaming console.
In addition to these two there are also blinkbox apps for the Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Smart TVs, Windows 8 devices, set top boxes and PCs and Macs.
Managing Director at Blinkbox, sees the Chromecast as being key to this:
“With Chromecast we love the fact that for £30 it’s possible to turn a TV with an HDMI input into a smart TV, meaning blinkbox will be even more accessible to those who want to enjoy the latest movies and TV without being tied into a subscription.”
With sales of Google Chromecast in the UK reported to have passed 100,000 units mark in just two months. Blinkbox clearly see the opportunities.
