Google’s List of Chromecast supported apps are increasing day by day now Comedy Central, Sesame Street, TuneIn and Epixare the new additions to it.
The Internet giant’s $35 streaming-media adapter now supports video apps from Viacom’s Nickelodeon and Comedy Central; Sesame Workshop’s Sesame Go kidvid subscription service, the Epix movie channel from Viacom’s Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM; the Starz Encore movie channel; and YuppTV which provides access to more than 170 live Indian TV channels.
When Chromecast first launched it had virtually no well known competitors, but now there’s Amazon’s Fire TV Stick, Playstation TV, Roku’s Streaming Stick and a number of other ways to turn a ‘dumb’ TV into a smart one, so each app really does count. Plus, they will all work nicely with Google’s new Android TV-based devices like the Nexus Player.
