After the wait of 10 days Spotify today releases the new update to its app in Play Store with Google Chromecast support.
The updates to iOS and Android only allow streaming to the new Chromecast, and don’t currently work with the first generation stick. The Verge said that Spotify does plan to bring support to the older streaming gadget “soon,” but we don’t know how soon that will actually be.
Additionally, the Android update also adds the ability to connect with the 2016 BMW 7 Series, enabling drivers to play Spotify directly through their in-dash entertainment systems. Android support for the rest of the BMW/Mini lineup as well as older Chromecasts for both operating systems are “rolling out” soon, according to the company’s product pages.
