Google has launched its streaming device in Taiwan market through cooperation with Chunghwa Telecom on 4th December 2014. Retail price of this device in Taiwan is NT$1,390 (US$44.80) according to Google.
Google has now launched its Chromecast in 24 markets, including Taiwan. Taiwanese buyers of the Chromecast can gain access to movies and sports in the Google Play app store, or can subscribe to cloud-based movies provided by Chunghwa Telecom or streaming music offered by KKBOX.
When asked why the company has taken more than a year to bring Chromecast to Taiwan,
Lien said Google has been working with suppliers to increase production capacity to meet strong demand, and also that it took some time to expand language support to Traditional Chinese and to offer local content.
