Recently Google unveiled Chromecast with Google TV along with a standalone remote. Xiaom also launched its streaming stick this year to compete against the Chromecast and Amazon Fire Stick. A new Android TV Box has appeared on FCC which appears to be for the popular Korean streaming service – On Demand Korean. It appears to be ODKBox bearing model number UL 7060.
The new Android TV Box features Amlogic S905X2 CPU and supports both 2.4GHz and 5G WiFi. There’s also a LAN port, an HDMI port and a regular USB port. As per the User Manual the Android TV box ships with a dedicated remote controller. There’s also a 1 A power adapter along with the device as spotted on the FCC. The user can connect the device either with a WiFi network and HDMI port.
There’s hardly any information on the software version, but we expect it to feature the latest Google TV iteration.
The ODKBox will compete against the Xiaomi TV Box which consists similar hardware and peripherals. However, it will be dedicated for OnDemand Korean Streaming users only. The remote comprises all the important keys required for any streaming device. However, dedicated keys for Netflix, Prime Video or any other network is missing on the ODKBox Android TV.
It will launch in Korea, especially for the ODKBox users. It will be the latest hardware for the streaming service users in the country.
