One Click to Clear all Your Caches on Amazon Fire TV

Amazon will be releasing a new software update for Fire TV, which will allow users to free up space by deleting the cache in just one click. Users were complaining about the storage space issue in the Fire TV on all social media platforms. And now the company has decided that it’s high time they address this issue.

Users don’t have to delete any apps to get space now. Previously, the storage used to get filled mainly because of the file size, and users had to wait for an update to get rid of that extra space. And the other way was because of the user data, like their login credentials, and changes they make to the devices. Users had to uninstall the application to remove that information.

And another major reason was the cache. These are things the apps download and store on the devices on their own. Cache files mainly consist of the app page and the thumbnails. Caches are temporary files that apps download to gain speed and performance by eliminating the need to consume data to load that particular information again and again. Which means those are harmless files which the app can download again if needed. Will the app slow down? Yes. But it’s barely noticeable.

Before, the user could remove the caches of individual apps by going into Settings -> Application -> Manage Installed Applications -> Clear all Application Caches. Agree on the confirmation notification pops up, and done. It gets the job done, but going through individual apps to get the work done is quite a hassle.

That’s where the relevance of one click and clearing all your cache comes in. This feature has been spotted in almost all the Fire TV lineups, like the Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max. It’s not out completely yet, but yeah,h you can expect them soon. You can also checkout best streaming devices with local channels support.
