Xiaomi revealed its next streaming TV box on its global website. The name of a new streaming box is Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) with upgraded hardware and features. However, the pricing and availability of the new streaming box are not announced yet. But it seems that the Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen could soon be available in many markets. It will give tough competition to Apple TV, Google TV Streamer, and the recently launched Thomson Streaming Box Plus 270.
The Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd gen supports 4K streaming with (3840 x 2160) resolution and 60 FPS support. It also packs Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Dolby Audio with DTS (immersive audio quality). It is powered by a powerful 64-bit quad-core A55 CPU and ARM G310 V2 GPU. The company says that Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen has 25% improvement in CPU and a 130% improvement in GPU.
The streaming box features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It runs on Google TV, so you will have access to all apps on the Google Play Store. In the connectivity section it is equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 GHz/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, an HDMI 2.1 port, a USB 2.0 port, and a power input port.
Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) has a sleek design with dimensions of 97mm in length, 97mm in width, and 17mm in thickness and weighs about 91.2g.
