Xperia z3 and Z3 compact Gets Chromecast Screen Casting Support

Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 compact gets the chromecast screen casting support. The latest addition is Sony’s Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact which means the devices’ users can now cast the content of their smartphones’ screens, not just music and video, onto larger screens through the dongle.

Couple of months ago, Google announced the casting of Android phone and tablet to TV allowing users to see their favourite apps, photos and other things via Chromecast. Screen casting is limited to few smartphones namely Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10, Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3 and Note 10, HTC One M7, LG G2 and G3. Now Google adds Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact to the list.

The Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact are the first and only (so far) products from Sony that have Chromecast screen casting support. But hopefully, Google will be adding more devices to this list, although we cannot expect that older devices will be included. Also, the functionality is still in Beta mode so expect that things will not go as smoothly as of now.

Below are the devices, which support screen casting.
