Files by Google beta gets Chromecast support

Google is gearing up for the Chromecast support to its app “Files by Google”. As Google has already rolled out Chromecast support to the beta version of Files by Google. Initially, Files by Google app is available for only Android Go platform, and its basic function is to help users to free up space and share files.

In the August update to Files app Google has introduced the dark theme and new media controls. If Google updates Files app with some more useful features in it. Then Files by Google will become the most powerful file manager on Android.

Talking about the Chromecast support to the app. Now if you are using Files by Google beta version you can cast your photos and videos that are stored locally on your phone. One key feature of Files by Google is local music payer, And it does not work casting on TV. This might be done deliberately by Google to encourage other music apps like YouTube Music and Play Music. We can also say that the Chromecast support for Files by Google is still under development and casting music might available in the near future.
