Google Chromecast sales nearly doubled The Apple TV in First Quarter

Google Chromecast sales nearly doubled the Apple TV sales in the first quarter of 2016. According to the report of market analytics firm IHS Google shipped 3.2 million Chromecasts in the first quarter, compared to 1.7 million Apple TV devices.

The main difference between the sales of the Chromecast and Apple TV is the price of both the devices i.e. Google priced its streaming stick for Just $35 where as Apple TV is priced at $149. According to Report this is the first time Chromecast beat Apple TV. But, Since the launch of Google Chromecast 2nd Gen i.e. From third quarter of 2015 chromecast is the top seller. 

“Since the introduction of the fourth-generation Apple TV, Apple and Google have pursued vastly different strategies,” said Merrick Kingston, principal analyst-connected home, at IHS Technology.

One More thing Behind the Chromecast success is that Google is making chromecast more useful of the consumers day by day with new apps and games support.
