Gboard is all set to introduce its new updates, and it is blowing everyone’s mind. This time, they really listened to the users’ complaints and requests.
As you know, previous updates were mainly focused on the pill-shaped tweak for the suggestion strip. This time, they focused on design aspects. Specifically, the Fonts Size Setting section. This feature will allow users to adjust the size of the keyboard texts independently from Android’s overall display and text preferences.
How to know if you are eligible for this update?
The average size increment range is from 85% to 200%, with the “Match System” as the default option. All these changes will affect only letters, numbers and tool icons on the keyboard. Not the emoji sizes.
Compared to the previous system-wide update, this update is noticeable, and the user gets more freedom and choice over keyboard readability. This update is seen in Gboard beta (v15.9), and it is currently not available for everyone, even in the beta channel.
This update allows users to personalise their Gboard experience beyond the existing system settings, especially for visual comfort and accessibility. (No Apple users harmed.)
