Yesterday Google announced that iOS app for Chrome will also support for the Google Chromecast. This will provides you to cast videos directly from your Chrome browser of iPad and iPhone.

The changes, which are coming to Apple’s mobile devices with the release of Chrome 36 for iOS, mimic what’s been possible with Chrome for Android for some time. However, Chrome for Android is also capable of simply sending any web-hosted MP4 to Chromecast, regardless of whether the website hosting it officially supports Google’s cast protocol or not. That doesn’t seem to be the case on iOS, leaving some users over on Reddit confused.

The best way for iOS users to try out the new feature may just be to go to Google’s just-launched new Chromecast app directory and specifically search for web apps supporting Google Cast.
