Google Chromebit is the Chromecast like HDMI dongle from Google that turns any display into a computer. It will hit the market by this summers and its price will be less than $100.

With Google Chromebit, Google pitches it as something that lets you walk up to any LCD display and instantly transform it into viable computer, whether it’s sitting on a desk in a classroom, mounted on the wall in an office conference room, or hanging above the checkout counter in a retail store or fast food joint.

However, this concept isn’t exactly new since Intel also recently announced the Compute Stick, a US$150 HDMI dongle that provides the same functionality, but also gives users access to the full version of Windows 8.1. Other smaller manufacturers have also been releasing HDMI-based mini computers for approximately a year.
