When a Chromecast device is nearby on your Wi-Fi network the app will display a Chromecast icon in its user interface to alert you. Additionally, you can control streaming media directly from your Android device through pause, resume and skip buttons. With this Chromecast feature in it vuZu can play all the major audio and video file formats.

When speaking of the 1.6 update that adds this Chromecast functionality, Vuze General Manager Claude Tolbert said he was “excited” to be a part of the rapidly growing Chromecast app space. Since Google opened its doors to development for the device, coders have used the platform in a variety of ways. Media mogul networks like HBO and Showtime recently launched their respective streaming apps for casting, and some family-friendly gaming experiences have even emerged as well.
