It looks like Xiaomi is preparing to introduce a new TV Stick. Needless to say, the streaming device will be used to convert non-smart TVs into a smart TV. Moreover, it can also be used on smart TV operating an older version of Android. However, the company did not make any official announcement. Regardless, a new Voice Control Remote by the brand has made an appearance on the FCC certification website with model number XMRM-ML.
As mentioned, the upcoming Xiaomi remote bears the model number XMRM-ML. Besides, the user manual on the portal confirms the presence of remote control, an HDMI extender cable, a power adapter, and the stick itself.
As per the manual, the stick can be seen with a plug-and-play device with an HDMI port on one side of the streaming device and a USB end. The USB is meant to be connected to the TV or any other power outlet. Furthermore, the device comes with a short remote which offers essential hotkeys, including Google Assistant, Netflix, and Youtube buttons.
Compared to the previous generation remote control, the new voice remote can be seen with multiple buttons. Some of these buttons are apps dedicated to providing easy access to Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, and other such OTT platforms. On the other hand, the remaining controllers are primarily for navigation and volume control.
