After waiting for over a couple of years since the launch of Chromecast with Google TV, Google is most probably going to launch the Chromecast HD on October 6, along with the launch of new Pixel devices. The new streaming dongle has already passed FCC, and the specifications have been leaking for the past few months.

The latest, Bluetooth SIG listing confirms the presence of Bluetooth 5.0 and the presence of Android ENT OS. The Chromecast HD with model number G454V carries a description of an “interactive media streaming device” and is listed under the product category “Audio and Visual”. There are no other details that are part of the Bluetooth SIG listing.

Previously, the device is spotted on FCC with the ability to stream content in 1080p resolution. It is said to run on Android 12L while offering support for the more efficient AV1 codec. Moreover, the recent Android 13 QPR1 build confirmed the name “Chromecast HD” in the code.

The new Chromecast HD with Google TV is expected to cost around $30. The launch is just a few days from now, and is anticipated to launch at Google Pixel launch event.
