Google Adds the Chromecast Support to Google Slides for Android

Google Slides for Android gets the Google Chromecast integration with its latest version. The Updated App initially available through the unofficial APK mirror and soon will be available through Play Store. Now this app allowing presenters to ditch those old-school clickers and use their phone as a remote.

How to Cast Presentations from Google Slides.

  1. The first thing you will notice is that the cast icon doesn’t appear until you open a presentation.
  2. After that, it should show up in the action bar as you’ve come to expect.
  3. Tapping the icon will bring up a menu, instead of a pop-up, that lists which Chromecasts you may stream your slides too.

Once you select the streaming accessory, the app turns into a remote control of sorts, offering a timer to let you know how long you’ve been on the current slide. It also displays a thumbnail for the current slide in addition to a small preview for both the previous one and next item in the queue.
