Google announces online Smart Home Summit event, new Chromecast Launch Imminent

After the long wait finally, Google has announced an online Smart Home Summit event on 8th July 2020 at 10:00 AM (Pacific Time/US). The name of this event suggests that the new Android TV powered Chromecast dongle(Sabrina) might get launch in it. The new Chromecast (Sabrina) already leaked online with all its specs and design.

Moreover, form the past few days Google Pixel 4a is also spotted on some certification. So Google might also announce the new mid-range Google Pixel 4a along with Sabrina. On the Smart Home Summit event’s landing page Google says-

COVID-19 has made it difficult for us to meet you at I/O, Global Developer Summits, and EMEA Smart Home Summit. Our team does not want to miss the opportunity to connect, and we decided to take things virtual!

Join us on July 8, 2020 to hear what’s new, and what’s coming up for the Google Smart Home.

According to the previous leaks and reports, the new Chromecast (Sabrina) will have a 2GB RAM and powered with an Amlogic S905X2 12nm processor. It will be powered with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The new streaming stick is also packed with ARM Mali-G31 GPU. New Chromecast will support 4K decoding with an output of 4K at 60fps over HDMI 2.1, it also supports HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision.

New Chromecast dongle will have a remote control also. The leak also revealed that the remote will have a Home, Google Assistant, and dedicated buttons for online streaming services like Netflix and YouTube. The device will be packed Broadcom’s BCM43569 Bluetooth + Wi-Fi chip and will have a built-in Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). ALLM is a feature that allows the TV stick to automatically toggle on Game Mode on supported TVs that will reduce latency when playing games. This makes us believe that Sabrina will support Google’s game streaming service, Stadia.
