Chromebooks are very popular among students in schools and colleges. It runs on a lightweight Chrome OS. Google is developing a unified app store for Chromebooks, which is currently in the testing stage and locked behind a chrome flag.
The new app store for Chromebooks will be hosted on discover.apps.chrome. Although, the current status of the discover.apps.chrome gives a 404 error. Talking about which apps or software’s will be available in this new apps store, there is no information right now. In our assumptions, the new app store will be a home for all kinds of apps, including Android apps, progressive web apps, and games through steam.
Currently, you can use various kinds of apps on your Chromebooks. You can use web apps built-in Chrome browser and PWAs. In Chromebooks, you can access the Google Play Store and install Android apps. You also play high-end games through the Steam platform. But right now, you can’t access all these apps and games at one place. So the Chromebook’s new app store will be very useful for users.
The 9to5Google has published a screenshot in which of Chromebook app store. In the screenshot, we can see a user interface that is very similar to the Play Store. We can also see the popular social networking apps, i.e. Pinterest, Whatsapp, and Linkedin.
