Fixes for Different Onn TV Remote Not Working Issues

The volume function isn’t working on your remote.

There are two reasons why it isn’t working. The primary reason might be that the button is nonfunctional. It’s mainly due to external physical damage or a minor short circuit inside them. It can’t be fixed on your own. Either contact a technician or better replace them with a new one

Another reason would be because of choosing a different mode. Check if the device is in the correct device category mode that controls the volume. e.g., TV, SAT/CBL, AUDIO, B-RAY/DVD, STREAM, OTHER

Channel Changing function isn’t working

This can be because of the same reason as mentioned in the previous one. Or try pressing enter after selecting the channel number. Sometimes the device needs a confirmation like that to select the channel.

Multiple buttons on the remote aren’t functional

This can be due to the same reason as mentioned above. It’s better to replace it with the new one.

Continuous blinking of the light on the remote.

Sometimes it’s a notification from the remote saying the battery is about to die. Replace the battery, and the issue will be resolved.

If you’re using a universal remote, the App Hub feature doesn’t work with it. This feature works only with the original remote. Try changing the remote.

Can’t program the remote

Try all the available codes manually. It should work. If it isn’t, then try the Auto Code Search method. To control multiple devices like a TV/DVD player, you should program the remote buttons separately to control each function of the device.

If you don’t know your device code, then click here. and search for your device from the list

If you want to program Onn TV remote buttons manually, then follow the steps given below.
  1. Press and hold the Program button on your remote.
  2. Select the device you want to program from the list. (ex. SAT/TV/STRM etc.
  3. Observe if the power button turns on or not.
  4. Enter your four-digit device code.

Check if the red light in the remote is still blinking. If NO, then the remote has programmed successfully. If it’s still blinking, then the device code entered is wrong. Try to put the correct one
