Stable Channel Update for Chrome OS comes with synced custom wallpapers and more

Google has announced Yesterday the Stable channel has been updated to 40.0.2214.93 (Platform version:6457.83.0). In next few weeks it will be available to all the Chrome Os users. Update is bringing along a few bug fixes, security updates, and feature enhancements.

The Stable Channel for ChromeOS

The highlights of this update, as shared by Google in the official announcement, include the synchronization of your custom wallpapers across connected hardware. Not only that, but the default wallpaper has been refreshed to fit in with the Material Design. Lastly, the new emoji palette allows for more convenient access.

Google has outlined the major features of the update in the blog announcing :

  • The default wallpaper has been updated to Material Design
  • Custom wallpapers are now synced across your devices
  • Emoji palette allows users to quickly access emoji
