Xiaomi may have let its new streaming dongle slip under its radar even before the launch. The new Mi TV Stick 4K is listed in an online store with an Android 9 Pie tag and may cost $80. If we recall, the company launched its Mi Box S back in 2018.
Going into the details, the new Mi TV Stick 4K has been listed on Gearbest. The product listing shows an image of the dongle in all its glory. It has a sleek body (like the Chromecast 1st generation), with an HDMI 2.0 connector. Additionally, the listing shows all the specifications and it seems similar to the Mi Box S.
The Mi TV Stick will be powered by the Amlogic S905 Y2 quad-core CPU running on A53 architecture. The model listed has 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and 8GB of eMMC storage. However, there is no information on other storage variants.
The graphic duties are handled by the Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. Further, the listing shows the Official support of Google Assistant out of the box. This clearly means that it is Android TV-certified. Additionally, the listing says the device will run on Android 9 Pie OS, unlike the Mi Box S which came with Oreo at launch.
Auxiliary features include a DTS-HD and Dolby Stereo Sound for 3D sound quality and cinematic effects. The Mi TV Stick will also support 4K at 60fps and HDR playback for a lifelike visual experience.

Apart from this, the dongle will support various apps including streaming services like Netflix. According to 9to5Google, the Gearbest Search portal shows a short listing of the dongle’s price quoted at $80 while the listing is devoid of any price. In all possibilities, this price could be just a placeholder but seems quite a bit more compared to Mi Box S which launched at $59. That being said, with the device getting listed on the site, the launch seems imminent.
