Great news for Chromecast and Google TV users. Google is slowly introducing new Google TV Streamer features to older devices. Earlier this month, users received the AI-generated screensaver feature, and now the Google Home panel is being widely rolled out.
The new Google Home panel on Google TV puts the power to control smart home devices at your fingertips. It allows you to effortlessly set the mood with dimmed lights, fine-tune the temperature, and keep an eye on your security cameras without having to reach your phone. Additionally, it provides handy notifications for the smart doorbell and the ability to manage locks, plugs, other TVs, and speakers, making home automation a breeze.
Google introduced the home panel to Chromecast users who were part of the Google Home Public Preview program. The feature is now easily accessible on Google TV devices from TCL, Hisense, Xiaomi, and other brands, as reported by 9to5Google. While the Home panel provides access to all the smart home device controls available on Google TV Streamer, it is not possible to assign this feature to a dedicated button.
You can easily access the home panel on your Google TV device by long-pressing the home button or heading to the settings menu through a quick setting dashboard.
If the feature isn’t visible yet, you can access the Quick Settings panel by pressing the home button long. It might also be helpful to check for updates to Google TV Home and other apps from the Play Store.
