Google is rolling out a minor update to Chromecast with Google TV today. Over the last few months, Chromecast has been getting firmware updates regularly. It shows Google is very serious about its streaming stick. The latest update changes the firmware version of Chromecast with Google TV to STTE.230319.008.H1 and it is packed in 59.61 MB. It is a very small update as compared to some previous firmware updates that are usually around 150 MB in size.
However, Google did not refresh the Chromecast firmware version page. According to 9to5Google, the new Chromecast update contains general bug fixes and improvements in the performance of the streaming stick. The update might be available for both Chromecast with Google TV 4K and HD variants. When we get some more information about the changelog or features we will get you posted here.
The last update i.e firmware version STTE.230319.008.R1 brings the April 2023 security patch and some other bug fixes along with performance improvements. Moreover, users will soon get Android TV 14 on their Chromecast with Google TV as beta testing starts last month.
