Chromecast with Google TV is getting a new software update with build QTS1.210311.036. The latest rollout is based on Android 10 and also brings the October 2021 security patch to the streaming device.
The previous update was dropped in June 2021. Hence, the latest update is most probably the last update for this year for Chromecast with Google TV.
To deal with the less storage capacity Google has put up the storage optimizations and management improvements in the new software build.
Under platform improvements, the latest update for Chromecast with Google TV brings Dolby Vision playback support and enhancements for DRM video decoding. Also, the video content now supports HDR10 instead of HDR HLG.
Along with the above updates, the QTS1.210311.036 build packs bug fixing and overall performance improvements.
