Swisscom Launches TV-Box 5 Powered by Android TV

The next-gen streaming device i.e. Swisscom TV-Box 5 is officially launched with Disney+ and new Super Package. As we have reported earlier Swisscom TV-Box 5 is powered by a Synaptics VS640 SoC that includes the 4 ARM Cortex-A55(2000Mhz) cores, it is paired with 2 GB of RAM. The new TV Box is powered by a Imagination Tech PowerVR GE9608 GPU.

Swisscom TV-Box 5 is a more compact device than its predecessor and it is 35% more energy-efficient than the previous variant. The new TV box runs on Android TV through which it integrates with entire Google services like Google Assistant and Play Store. Swisscom TV-Box 5 also has the Chromecast built-in so you can now cast the content from Smartphones/Tablets. You can also pair headphones via Bluetooth and easily transfer music, videos, and pictures over WLAN.

Swisscom also announces that Disney+ is now available to blue TV customers with new subscriptions. It includes the movies and series from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star. Talking about price, the company introduces four plans that we have listed below.

  • Disney+ Standard with Ads Plan- CHF 7.90/month
  • Disney+ Standard Plan without Ads – CHF 12.90/month
  • Premium Plan (Ultra HD streaming in 4K, HDR) – CHF 17.90/month
  • Blue SuperMax annual Subscription which includes Disney+, Paramount+, Sky Cinema, and Blue Mac – CHF 24.90/month
