YouTube TV latest Update on Apple TV fixes the HDR, ‘black screen’ issues

YouTube TV you know is one of the most used online streaming TV services. You can watch 100+ channels that include NFL, NBA, PBS, and Nickelodeon networks on YouTube TV. It’s available on all the major platforms i.e. Chromecast, Apple TV, Firestick, etc. Now according to a YouTube TV engineer on Reddit, they have started rolling out an Update to YouTube TV on Apple TV.

According to the Engineer, the update fixes the long-standing issue of a black screen appearing when you resume your YouTube TV app. YouTube TV users are facing this issue for a few months now. Along with this fix, the update also improves the handling of HDR for YouTube TV on Apple TV by turning on HDR automatically when needed.

Talking about the other features included in the update are some general performance improvements in the YouTube TV app on Apple TV. There are no specifics written in the changelog yet.

It’s not clear when will all the users of YouTube TV on Apple TV gets the update. As YouTube TV Engineer says in its comment that first, the update will be rolled out for a small number of users if all goes well later on the update will be rolled out for all the users. It might take a week time for more so don’t panic if did not get the update right now. However, you can all always check for the latest update on the App store for YouTube TV.
