In January 2024, YouTube confirmed that they had no plans to develop a native app for Vision Pro. But now, after the launch of Apple Vision Pro, YouTube has taken a turn from its stand as YouTube spokesperson Jessica Gibby says in an email sent to the Verge that YouTube has a Vision Pro App on the road map.
Jessica Gibby’s full statement:
 We’re excited to see Vision Pro launch and we’re supporting it by ensuring YouTube users have a great experience in Safari. We do not have any specific plans to share at this time, but can confirm that a Vision Pro app is on our roadmap.
The sudden change in heart for Vision pro might be after a third-party app, “Juno for YouTube” gains popularity, or their might be a sales factor as well. According to a report, Apple has sold 160,000 to 180,000 units in its first pre-order weekend.
However, along with YouTube, Netflix and Spotify, also confirmed that they had no plans for the Vision Pro App. So if sales rise we might see even these apps on Apple’s new Vision Pro. At the launch Vision Pro includes over 600 apps that specially developed for the platform.
